Disposable Landscapes
This project looks at the conflicted convenience of the common coffee cup. It forces us to reconsider that which we throw away. Our consumer culture has been shaped by an apathetic attitude of "out of sight out of mind".
This project challenges us to transform our convenient trash into treasure.
What can we change the cup into?

Trashy Taste
This is more than an exercise in recycling, this project is designed for us to reconsider what we consider to be "fine art" materials. Good artists have always found creative ways to raise the commonplace to precious art object.
Choice and being choosey
Coffee culture shapes our lives. What are the social forces that shape how we consume coffee? Who is responsible for these cups?
How much of our identity is tied into this culture of convenient consumption?

Project Room
I used 3 cups to create the piece below. Try this out for yourself,
Step 1. take two used cups (small and large work well and fit together)
Step 2. draw an environment that you are familiar with (trees, houses)
Step 3. cut out the shapes to reveal silhouette shapes
Step 4. paint up/ add color to the pieces individually
Step 5. use glue gun to glue pieces together
Consider the other kind of environments could work?
What kind of other materials could we use?
Materials: Coffee cups, Glue gun, scissors, acrylic paint , brushes(#4-#8)
